About three hours south of the largest city in its state, Adam's Landing, sits a small town, with a population of 40,000, and known for two places, The Caney Head Chapel, the oldest church in the state, and owned and saved by Mary Caswell, a former school teacher from Adam's Landing, and her Husband, Miles Caswell, a former farmer, school teacher, and reverend of Caney Head Chapel for a time, before handing the pulpit over to his Son, Lynn Caswell. The other place in Unity, that's very notorious throughout all the land, is the Unity State Penitentiary, where Michael Barr is serving a long sentence due to his hate crimes towards the Evans Family back in Adam's Landing. Michael's Mother, Desi Lane once famous, but with a faded and negative reputation, moves to Unity, and starts fresh, and possibly be successful? But will Desi continue her ways?
Unity's a town that has declined slightly due to the Unity Mills closure, and the population has dropped in recent years, but the town is still a popular place to visit, due to it's classic Downtown, and the surrounding countryside. Out in the outskirts of Unity lives Addie Gore, an elementary school teacher, who also wrote books, but under the pen name of "M. Gore" and owns a publishing company in Unity, and is a world renowned author who still teaches school, due to being single after a unsuccessful marriage in her mid 20s, and raised her two children, Evan and Angie, on her own and changing their last names to her surname. Evan, Co owner of the mall, Unity Town Center, a 2 anchor mall, anchored by Emery's, owned by Ciarra Sullivan and Ava Jackson, but the other anchor sits empty due to the closure of Griffin's a few years back. His partner is Kane Craig, who's the Grandson of Mary and Miles Caswell, and successful businessman, who's also a deacon at Caney Head Chapel. Desi will meet up with Evan and Kane, as they own a few shopping centers, and cozy up to them, as she wants a space in the mall, but for a price. Evan is married, yet Kane is known to be the ladies man. Addie's Daughter, Angie, followed in her Mother's footsteps, and also became a teacher, and an artist, and also single. There's a few bachelors in Unity that would love to be with Angie, yet she waits for the "right man". The Gore Family has been a major family in Unity for many many years. Addie's Parents, Willard and Estelle Gore were major players in town, before they moved to Southpoint Beach, as both retired as owners of the Department Store in Downtown, that had a huge tourist draw, Gore's, went under due to the loss of business with the loss of jobs.
As for the Caswell Family, Miles Caswell was born and raised in Unity, and was raised by his Brother, as his parents left Unity to find work during the depression, but never returned. He survived and served his nation, and in Adam's Landing, met Mary Love, who was dating Floyd Jackson, but the relationship was strained, due to Mary's disdain for Floyd's Brothers, B.R. and Joe, and Mary left Floyd after finding out about a relationship with a girl named Helen, and dumped him, and soon after Miles and Mary were an item, and married shortly after dating for a short time. Mary and Miles resided in Adam's Landing for many years before they retired from teaching and sold their farm in Adam's Landing, and moved to Unity, where they bought Caney Head Chapel, and restored the Chapel, and built a huge expansion, due to donations, and Mary and Miles' retirement fund. Mary and Miles are the owners of Caney Head Chapel, and Mary is the one everyone turns to, as well as Miles, but Miles has the early stages of Alzheimer's.....but does he? Could there be something sinister going on? Mary and Miles always see the best in people, and are willing to give anyone a chance. Mary and Miles will be Anchors for our new show, as our Matriarch and Patriarch, who would have the intent to hurt these two respected and beloved people?
Mary and Miles Caswell have three children, all live in Unity. Oldest Daughter Hazel Craig, a former secretary, and widowed, due to her Husband, Victor Craig, passing away due to a massive stroke, and Hazel moved to Unity afterwards, as her only child, Kane, and her Parents live in Unity, and Hazel helps her Parents, and keeps her eyes on her son Kane, as she wants to see him settle down and marry. He previously dated Rachel Lane, as she ran away from Adam's Landing, after graduating to get away from her Mother, Desi Lane and Father. Rachel broke Kane's heart, and Hazel is fiercely protective of her Son, and she's a highly regarded member of Caney Head Chapel, and one of the directors for of church board. Kane also has a daughter, Cassie, who will be coming to Unity in the coming weeks.
Janet Mitchell, Mary and Miles Youngest Daughter, is very well known as an active member in local society, and married the Mayor of Unity, Phillip Mitchell, as this is Janet's 2nd Marriage. Janet's Oldest Daughter, Lacey was a result of Janet's first love, which ended when she became pregnant with Lacey. She later met Phillip, who's family are in charge of Unity National Bank. Phillip adopted Lacey, and he and Janet married, and had a son, Jacob, that's currently having a rough time in his life, as something will soon happen that will cause a scandal. Janet's very close to her Parents, and her Oldest Sister Hazel, yet she nor Hazel has the best relationship with the middle child, Brother Rev. Lynn Caswell.
As for Lynn Caswell, he's the Head Pastor of Caney Head Chapel, and as seen on D&D, in midst of a huge scandal and the "Good" Reverend, isn't quite the man he's supposed to be. He faces his problems but they are only going to grow.with Faye, and he's going to hit bottom, as a mystery begins, involving Lynn, and his Wife, Dr.Faye Caswell, as they are closely watched with suspicion, by Hazel and Janet, and Andy and Summer, and others once Andy learns of Jake's kidnapper. Lynn and Faye has two Daughters, Rose McClain, who lives in Adam's Landing, and Youngest Daughter, Sage Caswell, a young girl who's very close to her Grandparents, but she has trouble at home, as we will learn soon, and it too will show insight into Rose McClain, on Daylight And Darkness. Sage is a free spirit, and challenges the boundaries, and she's best friends with Addie Gore, as Addie was Sage's teacher in Elementary School, and a Mother Figure to Sage.
As for The Jacksons, Andy moves to Unity, and Summer follows, as they have a lead. Andy will juggle with being the new Pastor of Caney Head Chapel, as well as P.I., as he hunts down Jake's kidnapper, and it will be very powerful. Summer plans to start over, and grows close to Andy, as he takes care of her, and helps Summer get her life together. Expect a rivalry between Andy, Lynn, Summer and Faye, as Lynn sets out to destroy Andy, and his career in the church. Expect some major confrontations between Summer and Faye down the road, and a possible friendship between Summer and Sage, as they grow a kinship between each other.
To start wrapping this tour up, we'll look at the characters that will slowly make their appearances in town, and one of the characters that will likely become a major player in Unity, is Businesswoman Alexandra Boyd, Oldest Sister to Phillip Mitchell. Alexandra runs Mitchell Enterprises, jointly owned with Phillip, and consists of Unity National Bank, and a Downtown Clothing Store, Mitchell's of Unity, that's currently struggling, due to the loss of money coming into Unity, as the losses of the Mills has hurt the area economy.. Alexandra is shrewd, and some fear her, including Phillip, although she maintains a great friendship with Addie Gore, and Mary Caswell.
Casey and Jimmy Ryan are Brother and Sister, and Casey is a young doctor, who was originally supposed to go to Adam's Landing, but Faye went instead. Casey and Jimmy had a rough life, and Casey will form a friendship with Summer, as Jimmy could be trying to have a relationship with Summer, but will Summer take him? Also in the running is Paul Whitten, as he follows Summer, as he still loves her and is committed to being a part of her life. The last character, Todd McClain, is the Ex-Husband of Rose McClain. Todd's story will be explained throughout the show, as he slowly comes into play, and will cross-over to Daylight And Darkness, where he tries to get back with the woman he loves, but Nathan James stands in his way...
There will be cameos on Unity, as we begin, to help establish things, and Floyd Jackson will be the first to arrive, and he'll be around for a few weeks. Ciarra will arrive in town for a few episodes as well, and Xavier Jackson will come and pay a visit to Phillip Mitchell. What could that be about.... Hmm. Well it's safe to say it's going to be very hot, and get ready for one intense drama that I surely and sincerely wish all of you enjoy.
